The Mission
It was supposed to be the perfect beach vacation. But without warning, the horizon turned black. A massive Category 5 hurricane is pounding your rental house with relentless winds and waves of thunderstorms. The structure is groaning, the power has flickered out, and you are trapped in the dark as the house begins to collapse around you.

The emergency broadcast is clear: devastating landfall is less than an hour away. Staying in the house is a death trap. You and your friends must navigate the wreckage, restore what you can, and find a path to safety before the storm claims everything.

Why "Hurricane" is a Fan Favorite in the Triangle
Sensory Immersion: With sound effects of pounding rain and "power out" lighting, this room offers a psychological thrill that keeps players moving.
Logic Under Pressure: The puzzles focus on survival instincts and quick thinking, making it a hit for Corporate Team Building groups looking to test their cool under pressure.
Parallel Objectives: Like Candy Land, this room allows for parallel solving, ensuring that larger groups of 6-8 people aren't just watching one person solve a lock.
Clean & Modern Props: Under our new management, the "storm damage" is purely theatrical—the room itself is pristine and well-maintained.

Why mission X Escape
Durham’s Only Survival Theme
While others explore "detective" or "jail" themes, Hurricane offers a unique and relatable "nature vs. man" scenario.
The Best Value in Durham
Most high-production "event" rooms charge $35+. At Mission Xscape, survive the storm for just $25—or grab our $15 Student Thursday deal if you're coming from Duke or NC State.
No 4-Person Minimum
Don't wait for a huge group. We welcome duos to try and weather the storm together.
Room-Specific FAQs
Question:Is it completely dark the whole time?
Answer: The room starts with a "power outage" to set the mood, but you will find ways to illuminate your path. It is designed to be thrilling, not frustrating.
Question: Is there water involved?
Answer: No, you won't actually get wet! We use high-quality sound and lighting effects to simulate the hurricane experience without the mess.
Question:How difficult is this for beginners?
Answer: With a 52% success rate, it’s a great "middle-ground" room. It’s challenging enough for veterans but intuitive enough for first-timers to have a blast.
